The General Manager oversees the warehouse crew and drivers to ensure daily operations run smoothly. This includes hiring/training staff, scheduling and managing the sorting and packing of boxes for home and school deliveries. 2-3 days are working more in the warehouse and less in the office, while the other days will be office based, administrative type work like ordering of product, answering emails, customer service, and working closely with the CEO.

The GM will be an essential "go-to" person for staff and customers so providing positive, courteous and timely service is essential.

Job Responsibilities



Supervises and delegates tasks to packers and drivers. Assists in training new staff, helping to formulate checklists and training materials. Ensure team meetings are held on a regular basis and follows through with agenda items, goals and concerns Understands quality control of fresh food including food safe practices Communicates team and/or business concerns to the CEO Assists with business development and company growth Fosters and encourages a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale. Maintains awareness of customer needs and directs staff as necessary Responds promptly to customer needs and questions Understand, complies with, and role models the company personnel policies Consistently communicates and models BCause vision and goals.

Job Skills



Excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills. Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner. Product knowledge Quality control of fresh food Knowledge of the grocery industry is an asset Proficient mathematical skills for managing inventory, completing orders, and overseeing cost controls Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate. Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and excel.

Experience



12+ months retail experience absolutely required. Those with grocery experience will be given first consideration. Proven managerial experience

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions



Must be able to lift 50 pounds. In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours, 2-3 days per week Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching. Exposure to temperatures: BCause handles food - the warehouse is refrigerated! Ability to work in a wet and cold environment. Ability to work Monday to Friday,

Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
Starting salary - $62,500/year based on a 40 hour work week, 3 weeks vacation/year
