about this team

Our Global Distribution teams are part of our greater lululemon Supply Chain organization. This team supports lululemon\'s overall purpose by ensuring we are fulfilling our products to our guests through our various channels including our retail stores and ecommerce. Reporting to either the VP of Global Distribution or Director of Distribution Operations (depending on Campus/Multi Building Region or 1 Building Region), the General Manager of the Distribution Center is responsible for overseeing all DC operations within one location. They lead the DC operations teams, ensuring efficient DC operations and SLA attainment, all while hitting their key safety, service, quality, and cost goals plus driving employee engagement and enhancing our culture and employee experience. The General Manager contributes to the annual business plan, and manages a budget that effectively allocates resources to meet and exceed financial and business objectives. They act as a coach to the Warehouse Operations Managers on their development to build their talent pipeline. They do this by actively developing their people through vision and goals, coaching and feedback.

a day in the life

  • Directs and oversees all aspects of a building in a DC Campus.
  • Accountable for the campus/building in absence of Director.
  • Supports the VP of Global Distribution and/or Director of Distribution in creating and implementing. operating and strategic plans to drive continuous improvement.
  • Effectively helps to set and manage the annual budget to meet or exceed set targets.
  • Oversees all inbound, outbound, returns, and all support operations to meet specific company SLAs or KPIs.
  • Works cross-functionally with key partners in our Store Support Centers, other Distribution Centers, and Retail Operations to effectively achieve or exceed goals and produce outcomes in line with the company vision.
  • Responsible for collaboration with all support teams - Health and Safety, Asset Protection, People and Culture, Engineering, IT, Logistics, Network Strategy, Quality, Logistics, Labor Planning, etc.
  • Implement, teach and lead lean methodology to drive operational efficiency.
  • Manages employee performance for Warehouse Operations Managers including but not limited to vacation, employee separations, annual review, merit process, compensation, and documentation.
  • Partners with cross functional departments to manage Strategic Initiatives to drive improved business results.
  • Champions and leads through lululemon\'s IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action) initiatives and values.
  • Responsible for driving the lululemon culture in the building.
qualifications
  • 10-12 years of leadership experience in a Distribution Center or similar environment-preferably in a fast paced, high growth environment including sortation, conveyance, automation, MHE and WMS systems.
  • 5-7 years of direct people management experience of hourly and salaried employees across multiple teams.
  • Independent supervisory experience and decision-making.
  • Bachelor\'s degree preferred in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or relevant on the job years of experience.
  • 4-year college degree, masters preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cross-functional departments and ability to work with partners across fulfillment on solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Warehouse Management System and Labor Management System experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently.
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable with schedule which could include nights, working required holidays, some weekends with occasional after-hours requirements and overtime.
  • Bilingual preferred.
