Our Calgary location is seeking an experienced General Manager to support our diverse airport operations. This full-time position is based out of Calgary but will travel to various locations including Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Cranbrook as required.




Description:



The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall success of EFC's Calgary-based operations, which include the Fueling and Main Terminal Airport locations. While primarily based in Calgary, this role also provides oversight and direction to additional operational sites currently including Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, and Cranbrook; as well as other locations as assigned. This position plays a key role in ensuring consistent performance, operational excellence and alignment with company objectives, as well as meeting customer expectations





The General Manager is expected to drive performance through innovation, foster business growth, and build strong relationships with customers and suppliers. Additionally, this role ensures alignment with EFC's corporate goals and business strategy across Calgary, and all assigned base operations.




Responsibilities:



Establish the overall vision and direction for Calgary and assigned base locations, which may include passenger handling, ground handling, fueling, cargo, and other aviation services. Set annual goals for operations and teams; monitor progress using key performance indicators. Ensure efficient day-to-day operations across all sites. Oversee financial performance, including monthly income statement reviews and annual budgeting. Assess, update, and implement business processes to improve efficiency and support growth. Lead and develop a culture of safety, empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Manage staffing levels and scheduling in collaboration with site supervisors to meet operational, safety, and financial standards. Oversee recruitment, performance management, and terminations in partnership with site supervisors. Foster team morale through strong communication and leading by example. Deliver exceptional customer service to EFC's clients. Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints effectively. Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and actively identify and pursuing new business opportunities and revenue streams to support growth. Engage regularly with other location managers and senior leadership to share insights and best practices. Travel to assigned base locations as required to provide on-site leadership, support, and oversight. Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment. Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service. Comply with and participate in the Company's Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives. Perform any other duties as required.


Qualifications and Experience:



Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred. Minimum 5 years of management experience, including direct involvement in operations, business processes, and team leadership. Minimum 2 years of experience in the aviation industry; experience in bulk fuel services or airport refueling and main terminal airport operations is preferred. Demonstrated experience in below-the-wing handling of wide-body aircraft is considered an asset. Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract required; Class 3 is considered an asset. Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and all required security clearances. First Aid and CPR certification are considered assets. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build effective relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to assess customer needs and deliver appropriate solutions. Strong analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy in problem-solving and decision-making. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Solid financial and business acumen. Professional, punctual, and adaptable, with the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment. Clear understanding of personnel policies, practices, and operational challenges. Able to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
