As a valued addition to the Lightfoot team, the General Maintenance Technician will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems, and ensuring all facilities are tidy and functional.

The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable being hands-on as the main general maintenance provider, managing both the immediate repairs needed and long-term preventative maintenance of all equipment and facilities. They will also possess the ability to manage third-party service providers, ensuring both the efficiency and cost effectiveness of their services. Finally, they will have the flexibility and stamina to work long hours when needed to see the job through to completion.

Responsibilities



Responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to:

Performing small ad hoc repairs are required such as repairing broken locks and doors, small drywall and flooring repairs, and painting Ensuring all farm biosecurity and food safety programs and protocols are followed Maintaining a shop inventory by sourcing parts needed for necessary repairs and maintenance Observes the use of equipment in daily production to ensure equipment is functioning at the optimal level, and that safe work practices are being followed Creates standard operating procedures for all new equipment Schedules employee training on new equipment Overseeing weeding, lawn maintenance, and other general property appearance tasks Assisting with event setup and tear-down activities including moving tables and chairs, and other small furniture's Assisting in the collection and disposal of trash and recyclable materials Assisting in the setup, maintenance and tear-down of our dining tent Developing and implementing and preventative maintenance program for all equipment and facilities Managing all third-party service maintenance providers Creating routine property inspections and maintaining a prioritized list of issues to review with management

Experience and Skills Required



Experience using basic hand and electrical tools for the purpose of conducting basic repairs Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems Physical stamina and dexterity Ability to prioritize tasks in order of urgency Very good communication and interpersonal skills Successful completion of an apprenticeship trade considered an asset
