Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable

Carpenter / Construction Labourer

to join our team in Shuniah, Ontario. The ideal candidate is experienced in residential and commercial construction, capable of reading blueprints, performing detailed carpentry, and assisting in a variety of hands-on building tasks. This role offers steady, full-time work with diverse projects and opportunities to grow within a supportive team environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Construction & Carpentry

Accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to complete builds and modifications

Trailer & Container Preparation

Inspect, clean, and prepare office trailers and storage containers for customer delivery or return Install interior fixtures such as desks, cabinetry, flooring, and lighting Ensure units meet company quality and safety standards before leaving the yard

Yard & Shop Operations

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand/power tools safely and efficiently Assist with loading/unloading trailers and materials Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and workshop environment Perform general labour tasks including debris removal, site setup/teardown, and basic maintenance

Teamwork & Safety

Work collaboratively with managers, technicians, and co-workers to meet project timelines and customer expectations Adhere to all building codes, safety procedures, and company policies Report any hazards, malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately Support the company's commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction Frame, construct, install, and repair walls, flooring, roofing, windows, doors, trim, and other structural components using wood, plywood, and composite materials Lay tile, install paneling, perform finish carpentry and trim work, and complete minor painting and touch-ups Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs as required

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in construction, carpentry, or similar labour-intensive roles Red Seal Certification in Carpentry (asset, not required) Valid Class G driver's licence and reliable vehicle to travel to the Shuniah yard (required) Forklift experience or certification (preferred) Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge (asset) Able to lift 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and time management skills Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team setting
