Position Overview:

Labourers support operators and supervisors to work safely and efficiently by cleaning the site, moving materials, and performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment. Their duties require manual labour and must be done safely at all times. Labourers may also operate equipment like rock trucks and packers. The worksite is located in Thompson, Manitoba and this is a fixed-term position of approximately 8 months.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

\xc2\xb7 Cleaning of construction sites, performing routine maintenance on tools / equipment, loading and unloading equipment

\xc2\xb7 Working with hand tools, moving materials on the construction site, generally assisting other workers in completing their work

\xc2\xb7 Some heavy lifting and physically demanding duties

\xc2\xb7 Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol

\xc2\xb7 Experience in oilfield waste management, heavy equipment and valid industry safety tickets are an asset

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

Experience and Education:

\xc2\xb7 Drug, Alcohol & Fitness Testing

\xc2\xb7 Possession of a valid class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License with a clean driving record

\xc2\xb7 Valid Safety Tickets (H2S, First Aid, CSTS, Ground Disturbance)

\xc2\xb7 Grade 12 or GED

\xc2\xb7 Must have steel toe work boots; other personal safety gear is an asset

\xc2\xb7 Ability to Work variable shifts & hours

\xc2\xb7 Work and/or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation

\xc2\xb7 Can work well as a team member or independently with little direction

\xc2\xb7 Must be reliable, mature, punctual, motivated

\xc2\xb7 Strong detail orientation with computer skills

\xc2\xb7 Solid communication and customer service skills
