Job summary

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the general labourer will ensure the proper functioning of the production line equipment. He will support the team in compliance with operating procedures, as well as the achievement of production and quality standards. He will document production records. He will participate in the minor adjustment of production equipment. He will participate in continuous improvement projects and health and safety in operations as instructed.

Job responsibilities

Handle finished or raw products and other components using a forklift in accordance with work procedures; Qualified on crane and/or forklift usage Support counting and tracking of bundles, finished products and raw materials Runs equipment independently with regular (some) coaching or training required Can cover specified areas as required as break coverage, or operate stacker when needed Operates key equipment on part time basis, and/or is the primary operator on 1 or less of the key equipment on their shift Ensure proper operation of the equipment area in automatic or manual mode; Support other functions of the line as required for production needs Completes administrative or data input tasks as needed for traceability of production orders Perform simple maintenance and adjustments to ensure the smooth running of operations equipment Maintaining a clean work environment; Participate shift exchange; Participate in special projects, tasks related to continuous improvement / 5S; Update documentation for operating area as required Perform sporadic duties for operational needs.

Required training and experience

1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment (asset); Standard forklift driving (Bi-directional an asset).

Key skills required

Able to use a measuring tape; Ability to use computer equipment at workstations; Ability to understand how machines work; Be calm; Resourceful and autonomous; Able to lift a load; Have a strong sense of responsibility; Ability to communicate well.

Schedule:

12.5hrday shift to start, with possibility of change when production begins. Flexibility is essential. Depending on the schedule, shift premiums apply.
