Job Description
Access Precision Machining Ltd is located in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, one of the most beautiful places in Canada, and recently ranked #1 community in BC. Access Precision Machining incorporates the latest Mazak CNC tool technology with highly skilled journeyman machinists to service a variety of industries and applications. We also provide Waterjet Cutting, Fabrication, Welding, as well as Assembly and Testing Services. Our 35,000 sq-ft state-of-the-art facility (completed in 2015) is always kept in immaculate condition and is as well equipped as any machine shop in a major center.
Our shop works 4 - 10hr shifts Monday to Thursday, allowing for optional overtime on Friday's when available or regular long weekends to get out and enjoy all the Okanagan has to offer with your friends and family. Camping, boating, fishing, skiing and snowmobiling all right our your front door!
Access is currently looking for a General Skilled Labourer to learn and grow with our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with shipping and receiving, including packaging, material handling, and parts washing. Support production activities such as grinding, deburring, and other general shop tasks as needed. Maintain organization and cleanliness throughout the facility, including routine and seasonal maintenance of the building and grounds. During winter months, ensure doorways, walkways, and access areas are kept clear of snow and ice; operate snow removal equipment as required. Perform other general labour and support duties as assigned by supervisors.
Knowledge and Skills:
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with basic hand tools an asset Forklift ticket and/or experience an asset. Experience operating machinery like tractors and loaders an asset Able to lift to 50 lbs and perform duties in a machine shop environment
Working Conditions:
Work weeks are 4 days a week, 10 hours a day, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch Significant interaction within the machine shop which requires the use of safety equipment including but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety footwear. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
