Job Summary

The General Laborer - Processing Department supports the front end of our production flow by preparing material for fabrication and welding. Reporting to the Shop Coordinator, you will handle raw material, assist with cutting and basic part prep, maintain safe and clean work areas, and help the team meet daily production targets.

Responsibilities

Support the Processing Department with loading, unloading, and moving steel and parts within the shop. Assist operators with feeding and offloading material from saws and other processing equipment (training provided). Perform basic grinding, deburring, and cleaning of parts so they are ready for the next production step. Tag, identify, and stage material and cut parts by work order so they can be easily found downstream. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety rules. Accurately clock in and out of projects and follow instructions from the Shop Coordinator and lead hands. Use machinery, tools, and materials safely and properly at all times. Collaborate with team members and contribute to a respectful, positive work environment

Qualifications

Physically capable of frequently lifting 10-40 lb. and work in various positions (bending, squatting, kneeling, standing) for extended periods. Comfortable working in an industrial environment with occasional outdoor work. Ability to use a tape measure and perform basic math with inches and millimeters. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools are assets. Experience in metal fabrication, processing, or manufacturing is an asset but not required. Steel-toe safety footwear is mandatory. Strong verbal communication skills and ability to follow written instructions. Commitment to safety, teamwork, and maintaining a positive workplace.
