Position Overview: The General Labourer has the ability to work in a variety of roles within the sawmill and planer, supporting the manufacturing process from point of intake of the raw log to the packaging of finished lumber and/or engaging in site clean-up. Reporting to the supervisor of the assigned work site, the General Labourer works eight-hour days and will be either sitting, standing, walking or a combination of the same. No prior experience is needed to become a General Labourer as on-the-job training is provided. A variety of advancement opportunities are available for those entering the company in a Labourer position. Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 To reliably attend work for scheduled shifts. \xc2\xb7 To work safely, in compliance with all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and procedures and relevant legislation. \xc2\xb7 To actively participate in orientation and training provided by the company and to seek out clarification and/or additional training as required. \xc2\xb7 To perform required tasks associated with the position assigned. \xc2\xb7 To address concerns directly with the site supervisor, or lead hand in the absence of the supervisor, in a timely manner, and to support problem solving around the concern(s) brought forward. \xc2\xb7 To conduct oneself in a manner that contributes to a culturally safe, inclusive and respectful workplace.
