Job Description

Labourers at On Side are important team members who, help rebuild and restore damaged personal and commercial property, anywhere and anytime disaster strikes. Labourers are the MVP of the restoration teams. Willing to learn, love being taught and full of ambition the Labourer knows they're going places in life and this is the first stop on the way to success!

Additional abilities required include:

Experience and desire to do physical work

Understanding and experience using hand and power tools

Curious nature, always want to know how things happen

Strong people, teamwork and communication skills

Attention to detail, ability to follow directions

A safety mindset

Valid driver's licence and a clean criminal record (we do check)

Ability to communicate in English

Other stuff that'll help you be successful but isn't mandatory:

Experienced in construction, particularly demolition

WHMIS

First Aid

Of Note

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed

Application question(s):

• Have you ever experienced a home that had flood or fire damage?
• Do you have basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience?
• Are you willing to learn and help other departments if needed: including demolition and debris disposal?
• Are you fluent reading / writing/ speaking English? If no, please rank your skills out of 10.
• Are you comfortable working in disaster environments such as water damage and fire damage?
• Are you able to work a rotating On-Call Schedule? This is additional to scheduled day time hours.
• Are you capable of: Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted while walking up stairs. (think flooded basement and we need to pack everything out)

Experience:

• using hand and power tools: 1 year (preferred)
• demolition: 1 year (preferred)
