Duties
Assist with the preparation and handling of meat products, including cutting, trimming, and packaging using proper knife skills and mechanical tools.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and tools in compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standards and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations.
Support the assembly line by sorting, stacking, and packaging meat products efficiently to meet production targets.
Follow strict food safety protocols to ensure all products meet quality standards; monitor temperature controls and sanitation procedures regularly.
Operate machinery safely within a food processing plant environment, troubleshooting minor mechanical issues when necessary.
Assist in inventory management by labeling, storing, and organizing raw materials and finished goods according to safety guidelines.
Participate in regular safety training sessions focused on food industry best practices, sanitation procedures, and workplace safety.
Qualifications
Prior experience or interest in manufacturing, food processing, or meat cutting is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, sanitation practices, HACCP protocols, and food safety regulations is highly desirable.
Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects safely, and working in a cold environment typical of meat processing plants.
Mechanical knowledge or experience operating basic machinery used in food production is a plus.
Strong attention to detail with excellent knife skills for meat handling tasks.
Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a high level of cleanliness and safety compliance.
Willingness to learn new skills related to food industry processes and equipment operation.
