- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and valid piece of government ID (preferably photo ID)
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Are legally entitled to work in Canada
- Are legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
TRI-Rock is a 16-week, paid employment program to gain
basic, hands-on employment experience
. It takes place in two phases, the first being 8 weeks on-site and the second being 8 weeks offsite.
During the first eight weeks, participants will be based at Living Rock, where they'll receive hands-on training in various areas, including Food Services, Custodial, Shipping & Receiving, Hospitality, and Food Bank & Inventory Control. Additionally, participants will engage in workshops that focus on essential life and employment skills. Certification in First Aid/CPR and WHMIS are also provided.
Hours for these first eight weeks are Monday to Friday from 9:00am - 3:00pm.
The final eight weeks consist of a community-based employment placement where participants gain real-world experience. Hours for Phase II may vary depending on the employer's needs.
