Job Summary



The General Labourer supports the Construction Teams in the day-to-day onsite tasks. The General Labourer takes instruction from the Lead Hands & Working Foreman to complete the necessary tasks and duties for each respective job site. Under the supervision and guidance of the Foreman, General Labourers may be a Trainer when Trainees are on site, working one on one with a Trainee to allow them to learn on site. Trainers should ensure safety and accuracy in training.

Some experience in the field of construction (0.5-1 years preferred)

Key Duties



Daily

Site setup and teardown - Ensure Health and Safety equipment and information is available and clearly identified when required Load & unload tools and materials Maintain shop inventory of consumables such as PPE items, sanitation products, fasteners, frequently used products, etc. Maintain cleanliness on site and in shop Ensure tools and supplies are returned to appropriate places Assist in various interior or exterior construction or landscape related tasks at any point in construction process, including but not limited to: Demolition & Cleanup Concrete Work Framing Insulation & Drywall Painting & Staining Tile & Flooring Trim & Doors Exterior Finishes (windows, siding, roofing, soffit, fascia, eaves) Landscaping Maintain ongoing communication with the Working Foreman and Lead Hand Report any unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately Ensure a safe and organized work environment Maintain daily, accurate time cards as per daily tasks
As Needed

Attend company meetings Act as Trainer to Trainees on site as required or requested (if permitted by Training Manager) Provide leadership and guidance to Trainees as they learn and practice skills on site. Ensure safety and accuracy of training according to CB Construction SOPs Provide feedback on Trainees performance Participate in ongoing Training & Development initiatives Skills upgrading Participate in ongoing Training & Development initiatives Attend Certifications (First Aid, Working at Heights, etc) Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions & Equipment Required



Able to work in all weather conditions indoors and outdoors Able to Lift and move heavy materials and equipment over 50lbs Ability to stand for long periods of time 40 Hour Work Week - Occasional hours outside schedule may be required Must have basic hand tools, steel toed shoes, hard hat and a smartphone
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.80-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
