We are currently seeking a Labourer to join our shop team at Jos Will Millwork. As a Labourer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our skilled craftsmen in various stages of the woodworking process. From preparing materials to assisting in assembly, finishing, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace, your contributions will directly impact the creation of exceptional millwork products.
As a labourer you will get the opportunity to develop woodworking skills and gain hands-on experience and insight into the world of millwork and custom woodworking.
This is an entry level labourer position, the ideal candidate has a genuine interest in millwork, and is someone with a can-do attitude who's ready to learn and tackle various tasks. We are in search of someone who is passionate about woodworking and eager to contribute their positive energy to our dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of materials, including cutting, sanding, and shaping wood and other materials.
- Collaborate with craftsmen to assemble components for custom millwork projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Operate woodworking machinery and tools under supervision, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Aid in packaging and preparing finished millwork pieces for delivery or installation.
- Work alongside the team to achieve production targets and uphold the quality of our products.
- Delivery of products to job sites
- General tidying of the shop area
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required
- Previous experience in woodworking, construction, manufacturing or a related field is not required but is considered an asset.
- Basic familiarity with woodworking tools and equipment is an asset.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Physical fitness and the capacity to lift and move heavy materials.
- Reliable work ethic and punctuality
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and an eagerness to improve
