This is a full-time permanent job opportunity working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

The Construction Laborer will assist skilled tradespersons and perform laboring activities at the construction site.

Essential Duties include but not limited to:

Load, unload, and transport construction materials to different areas Clean/organize construction sites as needed - sweep floors, remove garbage, debris, etc. and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist carpenters, cutting, measuring and installation of materials. Assist in demolishing buildings. Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs. Mix, pour and spread materials. Level earth to fine grade specifications Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Comply with Manitoba Health and Safety Standards.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience; preferably with construction or handyperson experience.

Knowledge & Skills:

Ability to use hand and power tools (i.e., cordless drill, hammer, speed square, tape measure, utility knife, nail puller/pry bar) Good understanding of safe work practices. Able to move and lift 50 lbs. and ability to perform physically demanding responsibilities Attention to details, good problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn. High level of reliability and interpersonal skills.
