As our projects and operations continue to grow, we are looking for dedicated and hardworking Labourers to join our team. This role is hands-on and vital to our success--helping to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget while supporting our crews in the field.
The Role
In this role, you will report to the Crew Supervisor and play a hands-on part in bringing ROHL projects to life. As a Labourer, you'll be at the heart of our construction teams--helping to shape everything from site preparation to final touches. Your work will be fast-paced, varied, and vital to keeping projects on track and running smoothly.
You'll tackle everything from material movement and equipment operation to traffic control and safety compliance, making a real impact on project success every single day.
While responsibilities may vary by project, here's what you can expect to take on:
Material Management & Site Maintenance
Load, unload, and move construction materials to keep the job site productive and organized.
Signal equipment operators to ensure materials are positioned safely and efficiently.
Shape and prepare surfaces by spreading gravel, dirt, seed, and other materials--leveling, building, or grading as needed.
Operate tools and equipment like pneumatic hammers, vibrators, tampers, and skid steers.
Maintain a clean, hazard-free worksite to ensure safety and efficiency for the entire crew.
Traffic Control & Safety
Implement traffic control plans by setting up and managing cones, signs, barricades, and other devices.
Direct traffic when needed to keep everyone safe and projects moving.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company safety procedures and actively promote a safety-first culture on every project.
Attend safety meetings and inspections to stay informed and proactive.
Partner with the Safety Department to investigate and report incidents or near-misses, following all required protocols.
Professional Conduct
Demonstrate responsibility and professionalism in everything you do, ensuring the safety of yourself, your team, and the public.
Represent ROHL with pride and integrity when interacting with coworkers, clients, and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you must have:
A valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving abstract
The confidence and capability to work safely around energized utilities
Willingness to travel out of town during the week or weekends as needed
Physical Requirements
This role is physically demanding and requires the following abilities:
Lift up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly
Work in confined spaces, climb ladders and elevated platforms
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection and specialized respiratory equipment on designated construction sites
Stand for extended periods of time
Perform repetitive movements and tasks throughout the day
Work in environments with extreme heat or cold
Tolerate high noise levels and vibrations
Work in conditions that may expose you to potential musculoskeletal injuries
