General Labourer\xe2\x80\x93 Reports to: Foreman Summary General Labourer must be able to work well in a team environment in addition to working independently. Priorities are established by the foreman, and work is subject to inspection during progress and/or upon completion. Core Competencies

- Yard maintenance (lawn cutting, snow removal, etc.)
- Shop overall support, maintenance and organization
- Review daily workflow and production, adjust schedule daily to fit priorities
- Supplier pickup and delivery
- Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications
- Assist to keep shop area clear of clutter and safe; including garbage removal
- Supporting in production as needed
- Cleaning, moving equipment and supplies, organizing as directed
- Shipping and receiving using company procedures; ensuring accuracy
- Assisting clients and other contractors, as requested
- Responsible for the efficient delivery of products according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies
- Ability to read, understand, interpret and execute oral and written instructions
- Ability to work with a minimal amount of supervision
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
- Skill in the use and care of a variety of hand and power tools and equipment of the trade
- Ability to use and read a measuring tape
- Physical ability to lift heavy material and equipment
- Travel to off-site locations may be required
- Safety equipment will be required (steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, ear protection, etc.)
- Overtime as required
- Hazards associated with the trade
- Work both indoors and outdoors
- May be exposed to construction sites and seafood/lobster plants
- Shop Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00am \xe2\x80\x93 4:30pm, Friday 7:00am to 11:00am
