Maxam Metal Products is established as a trusted and reliable name in the construction industry since 1970. During these years we have worked directly with Architects, Engineers, Construction Companies and end users to provide for their needs. We are currently hiring a General Laborer to join our production team, which will include membership in the local union. Hours \xe2\x80\x93 1st shift Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Starting Pay: CA$19.76/hr POSITION PURPOSE: This position is responsible for assisting our experienced production workers to perform tasks. The General Laborer position is responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to prep work for operations, performing assembly operations, assisting Painters on the paint line, packaging finished goods, etc. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: \xc2\xb7 Assist Operators to ensure the highest quality of production is achieved. \xc2\xb7 Perform assembly operations. \xc2\xb7 Assist in loading and unloading of materials. \xc2\xb7 Assist in packaging product. \xc2\xb7 Maintain full working knowledge of all processes. \xc2\xb7 Ensure a clean and organized work environment. \xc2\xb7 Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines. \xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: \xc2\xb7 Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. \xc2\xb7 Tenacity in overcoming obstacles while maintaining productive and positive working relationships. \xc2\xb7 Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast paced environment that requires strong teamwork. \xc2\xb7 Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position. \xc2\xb7 Basic ability to understand blueprints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams. \xc2\xb7 Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One plus year of experience in a relevant manufacturing setting. The employee may be required to work with hazardous materials. The employee may be exposed to hot surfaces, hot air, electrical hazards, and flames.
