Overview:

To fill a position during an employee sick leave, we are looking for an individual with previous outdoor work experience in our General Labourer role. We are reviewing

LOCAL applicants only.

The ideal candidate will be no more than a 30-minute drive from Thorndale, Ontario.

McCutcheon Farm Drainage installs systematic sub-surface drainage systems in farms across Middlesex, Oxford and Perth Counties. Work happens year-round, weather permitting. Previous experience working long days outdoors an asset.

Responsibilities:

- Work in tandem with Backhoe Operators locating existing buried plastic, clay or cement tiles and connecting new plastic drains into these tiles across farmer's fields.
- Environment is fast-paced, candidate will receive training on the go.
- When weather co-operates, expect a 50-hr work week. If the weather does not permit work, no hours will be offered.
- 7am start time, Monday - Friday. Some Saturday hours may be available.

Requirements

:
- Previous experience in an outdoor labor-intensive role preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools

- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.

- There is a lot to learn on the fly. The right candidate will have the confidence to speak up and ask questions or for clarification on directions.

- Reliable transportation to our shop in Thorndale required. Transportation to the job site from the shop is provided.

Interview process:

Candidates will be contacted for a telephone interview. Following the telephone interview, an in-person interview will be conducted.

There maybe an opportunity for this role to go full-time but it is not guaranteed.
