Position Summary
The General Labour Person assists in various construction projects, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The position is based in Saskatchewan and adheres to local labour laws and safety regulations.
Clear Health Solutions offers a salary range that is directly based on the applicant's depth of experience in construction and renovation tasks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Construction, Renovation, and Manual Labour
Execute basic house projects and simple renovation tasks, including Dry Walling, Flooring, Shingling, Painting, and Carpentry.
Perform a variety of physical tasks such as loading and unloading materials, digging trenches, and assembling structures.
Operate and maintain construction equipment and machinery under supervision.
Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians) with their duties as needed.
2. Health and Safety Compliance
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines as set by the Saskatchewan Employment Act and Ministry of Labour Relations and Health and Safety.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure it is maintained in good condition.
Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
3. Worksite Preparation and Maintenance
Prepare construction sites by removing debris and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Set up and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding.
4. Quality Control and Efficiency
Ensure all work meets the quality standards set by the company.
Perform regular checks to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
Complete tasks within the designated time frames and prioritize tasks to ensure project deadlines are met.
5. Collaboration and Professional Development
Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals and communicate effectively with supervisors.
Participate in required training programs to enhance skills and maintain compliance with the Saskatchewan Employment Act and Labour Standards.
Stay informed about the latest industry practices and safety regulations.
6. Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Provide regular updates and reports to the supervisor or project manager as requested.
