We have a current opportunity for a full-time Blast Operator to join our PCC Brampton Ontario Team. We are looking for a Team player, who takes pride in delivering quality work and providing exceptional results for our customers. Position Summary: Level 1 Blast Operators, under direct supervision, will be expected to perform a variety of simple blasting techniques and methods using various types of blasting media such as aluminum oxide, glass bead, and plastic media, all in the efforts to effectively clean and prepare surfaces for future processes. Ensuring and validating part cleanliness, damage free surfaces, and part configurations are some of the essential functions a level one blast operator will be required to perform. Other responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as adherence to organization safety rules and regulations. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Reviewing and assimilating work instructions relating to cleaning, masking, and abrasive blasting operations. \xc2\xb7 Perform receiving inspections (before processing) as needed and immediately report any damage or discrepancy. \xc2\xb7 Abrasive blasting production parts and hardware using Aluminum Oxide, Plastic Media, and Glass Beads. \xc2\xb7 Gathers supplies such as racks, tooling, baskets, carts (etc). \xc2\xb7 Oiling and/or packaging of parts for protection. \xc2\xb7 Will be required to mask parts according to work instructions. \xc2\xb7 Cleaning of production parts which include degreasing or manual solvent cleaning. \xc2\xb7 Routine blast cabinet/machine maintenance. \xc2\xb7 Will require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during certain tasks (goggles, safety glasses, aprons, boots, gloves, hearing protection, etc) and be expected to comply with safety directives and policy. \xc2\xb7 Will be exposed to chemicals/solvents, occasional fumes, and moderate noise level. \xc2\xb7 Will at times require heavy lifting or use of mechanical hoist for the aid in lifting objects. \xc2\xb7 Work closely with area leadership to complete work and prioritize tasks. \xc2\xb7 Clean, organize and maintain work area as prescribed by supervision. \xc2\xb7 Complete documentation, counting of production parts, computer scanning, package to protect and transport, and other assigned tasks. Required Skills: \xc2\xb7 Basic mathematic skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. \xc2\xb7 Ability to stand for prolonged periods with limited movement. \xc2\xb7 Good communication skills. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work alone or as a member of a team, good cooperative skills. \xc2\xb7 Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Specifically, applicants must be able to read and understand written procedures and instructions. \xc2\xb7 Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast paced and ever-changing environment with multiple priorities.
