General Laborer - Service Department

Looking for a job with advancement opportunities in the trades? ARPAC is expanding and we need your help! We are currently looking to add a General Laborer to our Edmonton Service team! The ideal candidate has a mechanical aptitude and/or related experience in the Automotive/Millwright industry.

A Typical Day

Your day will be fast paced and new! The General Laborer is responsible for assisting both our Lift Truck and Dock and Door Division departments as required. This includes minor and bodywork repairs, minor paint touch ups, and cleaning/ washing of lift trucks, providing coverage for shipping and receiving, and assisting in foundational level repairs in the service department. This position will provide exciting challenges and variety to your day.!

Qualifications

Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail

Mechanical as well as Dock and Door experience is considered an asset

Good interpersonal skills required, including being a team player

Ability to work independently and unsupervised

Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Basic computer skills

Reliable, flexible, and willing to change with the environment

Knowledge of lifting techniques, i.e./ knowing when to use a lifting device or when this is not an option will need to ask for help

Education/Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required

Mechanical aptitude

WHMIS, TDG, and Forklift Operators course

Valid Class "5" Driver's License and a Clean Driver's Abstract required

Minimum 2-year related and/or mechanical experience is required

Valid class "5" driver's licence and abstract
