As a leading manufacturer, seller and recycler of pallets and shipping materials, Niagara Pallet is focused on providing the materials needed to get products moved, stored and shipped. We are GROWING rapidly and as a result we have an opportunity to invite a General Laborer to join our team! Candidate must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks while standing throughout their shift, in addition to lifting pallets by hand to conduct inspections and then stacking them once they\'re done. Full- time hours guaranteed!! You may not need to go to the gym anymore! General Laborer: Sorting

• Sort pallets, and other goods into appropriate stacks after inspecting, and determining the need for recycling, dismantling or disposal.

Repair

• Inspects pallets visually for damage and defects.
• Remove damaged boards with crowbar and dispose of broken pieces on conveyor.
• Ensure Pallet is repaired to the proper specification and quality.

Cutting

• Cut lumber to specified lengths in specific quantities.
• Continually inspect lumber throughout cutting process to ensure lumber meets spec and order requirements.
• Dismantle pallets using a bandsaw and robot machine, then organize and stack the wood by specs.

Build

• Carefully read and understand pallet blueprints and use them as a pallet building guide.
• Accurately determine the size of nails required to fasten different parts of the pallet based on the thickness of the wood.

HOURS: Day Shift Monday to Thursday 5:00 am to 1:15pm; & Friday 5:00am to 1:30 pm Weekends Off! REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience using hand tools is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted, lifting is a regular activity
• Must have steel toed boots/shoes ( Green Seal CSA Approved )
• Valid Drivers License and reliable vehicle ( there is no adequate public transit to our location )
• Candidates who are able to stand for extended periods of time, wearing steel toe safety shoes/boots
