The General Help role assists in the production and serving of meals at a military mess. The ideal candidate for this role will be reliable, personable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to pay attention to detailed customer orders and a willingness to assist team members will be the keys to success for this role. Duties may include:



Setting up & tearing down workstations Serving hot food items during mealtimes Assisting in the production of boxed Lunches Cleaning & organizing all workstations & customer areas Sweep and mop walk-ins, kitchen and loading/unloading areas Remove trash in the dish, kitchen and preparation areas to the designated area and clean kitchen garbage containers Assist with deliveries and stocking supplies as required Ensure the dish and kitchen areas are kept clean and sanitized throughout shift and monitor product supply, replenish when needed Comply with all health and safety requirements and guidelines for working safely (lifting, knife safety, wet floor procedures and hot oven safety) Participates in JHSC, workplace inspections and accident investigations as required Other Tasks as Assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Post-Secondary Education 1 year in Food Services Environment (Kitchen, Cafeteria or Restaurant) Reliability Clearance Certificate
