About the Role

ESW Building Services Inc. is seeking an experienced and dependable

Handyman

to join our growing team. This hands-on position plays a key leadership role in overseeing renovation and maintenance projects across residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled trades professional who can lead by example, ensuring every task is completed with precision, safety, and pride in workmanship.

This is not an entry-level position -- we're looking for someone who brings years of trade experience, excellent judgment, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with project managers and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute a variety of renovation, repair, and maintenance projects, ensuring top-quality results. Perform skilled work including

framing, drywall, plastering, carpentry, flooring, and painting

. Conduct property assessments and identify maintenance issues proactively. Coordinate with project managers to plan, schedule, and prioritize service requests. Oversee installation of fixtures, appliances, and other building components. Maintain accurate reports of completed work, materials used, and time tracking. Ensure all work complies with

health, safety, and building regulations

. Communicate effectively with clients and team members, representing ESW's professional standards. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians or subcontractors when required.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum

5+ years of experience

in general construction, renovation, or building maintenance. Strong technical knowledge across multiple trades (carpentry, finishing, drywall, painting, etc.). Proven ability to manage time, resources, and competing priorities effectively. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on long-term solutions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach. Familiarity with safety protocols and local building codes. Basic computer literacy for work order tracking and digital reporting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
