Position Overview

KNGC is seeking an experienced and dedicated

General Foreman

to lead and oversee on-site construction operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating crews, managing equipment, and ensuring all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily site operations for assigned construction projects. Direct and oversee the use of heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, cranes, triaxles). Operate smaller machinery when required (e.g., backhoe, skid-steer, telehandler). Read, interpret, and execute from technical drawings, plans, and specifications. Set forms, perform framing, and manage small to medium building construction. Monitor crew performance and productivity, providing leadership and support. Coordinate delivery of materials, tools, and equipment to maintain workflow. Oversee quality control to ensure compliance with project and company standards. Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, reports, and safety forms.

Qualifications

Minimum

8+ years of experience

in Civil, Commercial, or ICI construction.

3+ years of leadership experience

as a Working Foreman, Lead Hand, or Assistant Superintendent. Strong knowledge of building techniques, excavation, and trench safety. Ability to operate small machinery and hold a

valid G driver's license.

Proven commitment to safety and enforcement of company safety policies. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Proficient in project documentation and reporting. Willingness to work paid overtime and occasional weekends.

Current certifications

(WHMIS, Working at Heights, First Aid) are assets.

Working Conditions

Work at heights up to 40 feet on occasion. Exposure to varying weather and site conditions; physical labor required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times. Strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory. Travel to job sites within Ottawa and surrounding areas; some overnight stays may be required.
