General Duty Radiation Therapist - Treatment Planning & Simulation

Job Summary:

The Radiation Therapy Department at CCMB provides radiation therapy for cancer patients and education of radiation therapy students for the province of Manitoba. The General Duty Radiation Therapist (GDRT) provides clinical services and participates in clinical instruction of radiation therapy students, radiation oncology residents and other staff/students as consistent with the mission, values, and policies of CCMB.

The GDRT is under the supervision of a Senior Radiation Therapist and a Clinical Resource Radiation Therapist. The assignment for the incumbent will be in treatment planning & simulation. The incumbent may also be required to provide coverage for other areas within the Radiation Therapy Department based on their recent clinical experience.

EFT Hours:

  • The incumbent must be available to work 0600 - 1800, on all operational days.
Qualifications:

Requirements:
  • Current registration or eligible/will be eligible to register with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technology (CAMRT)
  • Current certificate for CPR - BLS Provider required prior to employment at CCMB
  • Satisfactory Employment Record
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada

Preferred:
  • Recent treatment planning and/or simulation experience
  • Certificate in Dosimetry (CDC) or CMD
  • CT Therapy Certificate (CTRT)
Asset:
  • Experience with ARIA RO, Eclipse and Siemens CT
  • Bachelor of (Radiation) Science, Health Science Degree
  • CAMRT full length courses or other RT related courses
  • Professional awards or honors
  • Ability to speak French
Salary: As per MAHCP Collective Agreement

Seniority for this competition will be applied based on the specific CCMB-MAHCP MLB certificate for this location and the RT selection and recruitment guidelines.

An employee is not permitted to hold two or more EFT positions greater than 1.0 combined across CancerCare Manitoba, Winnipeg and Brandon. Consider this prior to applying for positions, as Employees in this situation cannot be awarded an additional position that will put them over full-time (1.0 EFT).
