Eurofins CDMO Alphora Inc. develops and manufactures new therapeutics to improve the lives and health of patients. Reporting to Financial Business Manager, the General Accountant role is responsible for providing financial support related client invoicing, client reporting, updating Elims system. This role will also facilitate any auditing conducted by third parties to ensure effective resolution and swift closure of auditing activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor contract accounting by tracking contract billing versus schedule and working with the Senior Financial Specialist and departments to create invoices, credit notes and some client reporting daily
• Ensure all invoices have client PO details and contract reference details
• Support the department managers by aiding and providing feedback regarding invoicing, tracking, and reporting of sales order processing
• Update the Accrued revenues and Deferred revenues files daily with new billings details
• Review contract activities setup in Elims system by Project Manager for accuracy (ex. Milestones, currency, values, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned
• Follow Environmental, Health and Safety rules/regulations and report any workplace injuries or accidents immediately
• Adhere to the policies and guidelines set out in the Alphora Employee Handbook
• Work harmoniously with all fellow employees

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL

• Diploma or Degree in Finance or Accounting from a College/University
• CPA designation enrollment (an asset)

JOB-RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Minimum 3 Years of experience as an Accountant or Analyst
• Must have direct experience with reviewing client contracts related to financial processing
• Experience with full accounting cycle
• Demonstrated team player and customer service centric
• MS Dynamics Great Plains (an asset)

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Clear, concise, and professional communication skills
• Advanced skills in Excel
• Highly organized and proactive
• Great critical thinking skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Audit and/or related support experience
• Some knowledge of IFRS (an asset)
