General Accountant

We design, program-manage, fabricate, source, retro-fit, repair/service, and breakdown/recycle all types of packaging - metal, plastic, foam, bags, bulk/standard bins and a variety of custom dunnage. We provide solutions to a variety of industries: automotive, industrial, alternate energy, electronic and aerospace.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven General Accountant to join our finance team within a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of a variety of accounting and finance functions with PakFab. This position will interact closely with other internal team members. This position reports to the Controller or their designate.

Responsibilities:

Monitor all aspects of the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

Manage and maintain the general ledger by recording all financial transactions accurately and timely

Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure compliance with accounting principles

Analyze and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by providing financial data and analysis

Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns and other necessary reports

Support month-end close by preparing and analyzing financial metrics and operational data

Communicate financial information and results to management and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations

Stay up to date with changes in accounting principles and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

CPA of CFA designation is an asset

3-5 years of experience in accounting/finance

Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred

Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation

Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and a broad knowledge of the full accounting cycle

Working knowledge of Canadian tax regulations and financial reporting standards

Experience with cost accounting and inventory management

Advanced Excel proficiency required

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Visual, NetSuite, Dynamics, JD Edwards) and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles

Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders

Accomplished multi-tasker with the ability to work on cross-functional teams

Outstanding organizational skills

Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach

Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and cross-border environment

Work Conditions

Sitting for extended periods of time

Clean office environment with frequent visits to the production floor

Travel to off-site locations maybe be required

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
