Job Description


Our client is a well-established, private manufacturer of branded consumer products sold across North America and globally. They own more than a dozen brands and sell directly to small/medium size grocery chains, key accounts (e.g. Costco, London Drugs, Canadian Tire) and FMCPG trade distribution. Their sales largest market is the United States followed by Asia, Canada, and Europe.

They are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Production Superintendent to lead their manufacturing operations in the field of consumer products. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a proven track record in production management, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. The Production Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production activities, optimizing efficiency, ensuring product quality, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities: * Production Management:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the production process, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Monitor production output, resource utilization, and capacity planning to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Implement production strategies that maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and reduce waste.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure that products meet or exceed quality standards and specifications.
  • Establish and maintain quality control procedures, conducting regular inspections and audits of production processes.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Provide strong leadership to the production team
  • Set performance expectations, provide coaching and feedback, and manage training and development plans for staff.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Prioritize a culture of safety throughout the production environment, enforcing safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and company policies.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency enhancements.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and encourage a culture of continuous improvement among the production team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, such as Supply Chain, Engineering, and Sales, to align production activities with overall company goals.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Generate production reports, including performance metrics, KPIs, and any deviations from planned targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field or combination of education and work experience.
  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing supervisory role.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and process optimization.
