Job Description

Our client is a successful firm providing land surveying and engineering services for municipal development, industrial construction, and residential projects in Western Canada. Due to the company\'s growth and expansion, they are adding a Structural Engineer to their team. P. Eng designation or eligibility to obtain it is required.

The new hire will be responsible for designing and analyzing timber, steel and concrete structures to ensure their safety, stability, and compliance with industry standards. Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, Canadian construction codes and attention to detail will be instrumental in delivering high-quality projects and contributing to the success of the company.

Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Work with engineering team members to plan and design structural projects.

\xc2\xb7 Prepare detailed design and as-built plans using AutoCAD and Civil3D.

\xc2\xb7 Develop construction specifications, schedules, and quantity calculations.

\xc2\xb7 Perform construction inspection as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Perform evaluations of existing structures/buildings and find practical solutions.

\xc2\xb7 Prepare technical reports as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Offer project management services including preparing contract documents, evaluating tenders, and project scheduling.

\xc2\xb7 Oversee more junior Engineers and Drafters.

Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Degree in Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering or a related discipline.

\xc2\xb7 Registered as a Professional Engineer by a provincial or territorial association or eligible for registration.

\xc2\xb7 Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of Canadian building and fire codes.

\xc2\xb7 Strong computer skills including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office, and data analysis software.

\xc2\xb7 Strong technical and report-writing skills.

\xc2\xb7 Detail oriented and organized.

\xc2\xb7 Class 5 Driver\'s License in good standing.
