Our client is a leading structural engineering firm which has been operating throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan for over 50 years. They work on multi-residential, commercial, and institutional projects and deal with a variety of clients including well established architects, school districts, government agencies and veteran developers and contractors.
They are currently adding a Senior Structural Engineer who will be independently managing multiple projects while offering mentorship to a team of Structural EITs and Drafters.Mandatory requirements: P. Eng designation (EGBC); previous experience designing steel, wood, and concrete structures; 5+ years working with BC construction codes.The position can be based in Vernon, BC (preference) or Kelowna, BC.Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed designs for steel, concrete, timber structures using various materials ensuring that designs and construction adhere to relevant codes, standards, and specifications
• Perform detailed calculations to determine loads, stresses, and pressures that a structure will encounter
• Analyze the structural integrity and stability of designs using software and manual methods
• Lead the planning and coordination of projects from inception to completion
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency
• Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters
• Review and approve design documents, calculations, and drawings prepared by team members
• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements and provide regular updates
• Participate in and often lead project meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress, issues, and solutions
• Prepare detailed technical reports, design documentation, and project progress reports
• Maintain accurate records of design calculations, project changes, and compliance documentation

• Bachelor\'s degree
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant structural engineering experience required
• EGBC P.Eng or, immediate eligibility for registration with EGBC is required
• Valid BC Drivers License is required
• Structural design experience in concrete, steel, wood frame and masonry with solid understanding of seismic design concepts
• Experience using REVIT, RISA, and WOODWORKS is an asset
• Ability to conduct field work in large and complex sites
• Assist in the development of engineering scopes, costs, and schedules
• Quantify design concepts through detailed engineering analysis
• Work together with drafting teams to create structural drawings and specifications
• Have a detail orientated approach to drawing checks and reviews addressing constructability of structures

• Starting Salary $85,000 \xe2\x80\x93 $125,0000 depending on experience
