You will use your strong technical skillset in building innovative solutions to analyze and model power & gas markets.Minimum Requirements:Two years of analytical experience with demonstrated knowledge in the Alberta power and/or natural gas marketsExperience performing market analysis or system and tool designExperience analyzing and evaluating large and complex data filesA post-secondary education in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related fieldDemonstrated proficiency with statistical tools, and programming skill. This includes knowledge of VBA/Excel, Python, Matlab, R, etc.An understanding of market fundamental analysis including supply fundamentals, demand trends and price formationProven ability to work independently on a variety of projects with tight deadlinesExcellent written and verbal skills along with strong economic, mathematical and statistics skillsResponsibilities:Develop a suite of quantitative and analytical models to facilitate trading decisionsMaintain, augment, and enhance the power team\xe2\x80\x99s model and tool set on a regular basisResearch and monitor market fundamentals. Maintain a centralized system of key market driversWork closely with trading team to translate insight and analysis into actionable trading and asset optimization strategiesProvide analysis and research to various internal stakeholders as electricity market opportunities and projects develop for the companyLocation and other Key Details:This is an office-based role.
