Reporting to a Foreman, the Gas Fuser, is responsible for performing fusions on gas pipes and overseeing the full installation process of gas facilities. Key duties include installing and completing mainline connections, fittings, and service punch tees, as well as making tracer wire connections and conducting pressure tests. This role also involves submitting test documentation and ensuring accurate as-built records. The Gas Fuser supports crews with gas main installations, tracer wire placement, and system activation.

How You'll Add Value

Measure and stake gas line in the proper locations Ensure that all tees are installed tested, tracer wire installed and staked correctly Ensure that all deviation to line assignment, changes in fitting location or requirements are documented for as-built records Complete all required pressure testing of ATCO facilities and submit all approved test documentation at the end of the project; communicate with ATCO inspectors on-site Load, unload and move construction materials around the worksite; ensuring the worksite is organized and free of clutter, rubble, and garbage Ability to complete live gas tie-ins safely and professionally as per ATCO requirements Show and understanding and familiarization of all ATCO required work procedures Certified Atco fuser up to 8" for both pipe and tee is preferred Demonstrate understanding and ability to interpret ATCO gas prints Actively contribute to Volker Stevin Contracting's safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment

What You Bring

1+ years of Gas Fusing experience ATCO Gas Fusion certification is preferred Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a Driver's Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions Physical ability to repetitively lift and carry at least 40 lbs. regularly Experience with outdoor construction labor and heavy equipment operation are considered as an asset

Note: Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing will be required.
