Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Gas Fitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Responsibilities

Install, inspect, repair, and maintain gas piping systems in accordance with local codes and ASME standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute projects. Perform welding tasks including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and welding techniques to ensure secure pipe joints and fittings. Fit and assemble pipework using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, calipers, and tube bending tools. Conduct soldering and brazing operations to join components securely. Use rigging techniques to lift and position heavy equipment or materials safely on construction sites or manufacturing facilities. Follow safety protocols diligently during all phases of installation or maintenance work to prevent accidents or hazards. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings for precise execution of tasks. Collaborate with team members on construction sites or manufacturing plants to complete projects efficiently. Perform routine maintenance on gas systems to ensure ongoing safety and compliance with industry standards. Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and parts used for accountability and future reference.

Skills

Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, soldering, and welding techniques. Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler fitting, plumbing, HVAC systems, pipeline installation, and assembly processes. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and ASME codes & standards related to gas systems. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, calipers, pipe threading equipment, rigging gear, and tube benders. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to pipe sizes or system specifications. Familiarity with construction site safety practices and experience working in manufacturing or construction environments. Knowledge of schematics interpretation for complex piping layouts or HVAC systems. Understanding of maintenance procedures for gas equipment and systems to ensure longevity and safety compliance. Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and documenting work accurately.
