Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Retail Operations & Partnerships, the
Gallery Shop Sales
role is responsible for providing direct sales and exceptional customer service to visitors of the WAG-Qaumajuq Gallery Shop. This position supports both in-person and online retail operations, ensuring a welcoming and informed experience for all guests.
Hours of Work:
Wednesday to Sunday shifts; Monday, Tuesday, and evening availability may be required based on operational needs.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
Welcome and assist visitors in selecting merchandise.
Provide product and art-related information to customers.
Fulfill online orders for shipping and pickup.
Take and manage special orders, including customer follow-up.
Operate the POS system for sales and inventory tracking.
Close and balance daily sales.
Retail Operations & Merchandising
Maintain display standards through cleaning, restocking, and remerchandising.
Unpack and price new merchandise.
Assist with social media and website updates related to retail.
Support training of new associates on POS and shop procedures.
Ensure a positive visitor experience across all interactions.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma.
Experience in sales and cash handling.
Familiarity with POS systems.
Strong interpersonal skills for working with customers, staff, and volunteers.
Assets:
Background in fine art.
Bilingual (French-English).
Ability to speak or write an Indigenous language.
