Job Specifics
Our client is one of the leading growers and distributors of fresh herbs in Canada. From it\'s humble beginnings, our client is now the largest fresh herb grower in Canada and listed in the top five in North America.
- We are looking for G class or DZ drivers to drive an automatic straight truck delivering plants to gardens centres, both independent and grocery store garden centres.
- Some deliveries could be dock level, but mostly tailgated deliveries to parking lot garden centres.
- Most product will be on wheeled racks or carts.
- The driver will be responsible for loading and securing the carts, unloading and re-securing the load at the delivery sites.
- Deliveries could be local or as far as Ottawa or Sudbury.
- Start times will vary daily depending on where the driver is delivering to.
- Could be between 2 am and 6 am starts. Could be long days up to 14 hours and could be required to work 6 days per week, OT is paid after 44 hours.
- Bonus will be paid out at the end of the season Up to $1500 for returning all racks, showing up to work daily and on time, etc.
- Starting ASAP and going until mid - late June.
- Pay will be $22 per hour for G class and $24 per hour for DZ.
The Daily Bonus and Rack Return Incentive only applies for days worked. It is expected that employees eligible for the bonus/incentive are reporting to work for each scheduled shift on time and are completing their daily delivery tasks efficiently and according to employment terms. This Daily Bonus will be calculated by adding a premium of $20 for each day worked.
In addition, $10.00 per day will be added if a full truck of racks is returned at the end of the shift. A full truck of racks means all empty racks at the delivery location(s) are picked up. If there are too many carts to fit fully assembled, they can be broken down and stacked to increase space. It is also encouraged that drivers reach out to the logistics team to ask where there are racks available for pick up near them.
This Daily Bonus and Rack Return Incentive will be paid out to employees at the end of their seasonal term in a lump sum payment.
Drivers must have a minimum of 3 years commercial experience
