Position Summary?
We are seeking a Licensed Funeral Director (Class 1) who is compassionate, professional, and dedicated to excellence in service. This role involves guiding families through every step of the arrangement and service process, preparing and caring for the deceased, and ensuring each funeral is carried out with dignity and precision.?
Key Responsibilities?
Meet with at-need and pre-need families to create meaningful services.
Arrange and direct funeral, memorial, and celebration-of-life ceremonies.
Prepare required documentation, including death certificates, permits, and insurance forms.
Present families with service and merchandise options in a clear, empathetic manner.
Complete transfers from hospitals, residences, and care facilities.
Prepare the deceased, including embalming, dressing, casketing, and cosmetics, in our fully equipped, high-ventilation ground floor prep room.
Oversee visitations, services, and receptions, ensuring smooth operation and attention to detail.
Coordinate with clergy, celebrants, musicians, and other service participants.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of service areas, vehicles, and equipment.
Support community outreach initiatives, including events hosted at our facility.
Qualifications?
Class 1 Funeral Director's license in good standing (Ontario).
Valid driver's license with clean abstract.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and funeral management software.
Physical ability to perform transfers and handle necessary lifting safely.
