At Community Care Durham (CCD), coordinated networks of volunteers and inter-professional staff, working out of integrated community hubs and other locations, strive to enrich the well-being and quality of life for people wherever they choose to call home. As the largest community support services agency in Durham Region, CCD collaborates with its partners and the broader community to address community issues and support local citizens to achieve their goals to live independently.
Reporting to the Director, Community Capital Development, the Fundraising Coordinator provides support to the development, implementation, and review of CCD's fundraising initiatives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develops work plans for fundraising campaigns, including promotional marketing initiatives, social media, and community engagement components (compiling statistics, photos, creating messages, etc.);
Stewardship and recognition of donations/sponsorships received, according to CCD policies and procedures;
Connects with potential business/organizational donors and follows up as required;
Acts as a representative of CCD at external promotional/information events/presentations;
Plans, implements, and reviews fundraising events;
Develops the content for the online fundraising platform, including sponsorship/participant packages and associated promotional/event content;
Arranges venue for fundraising event and secures required permits/insurance;
Liaises with vendors to ensure campaign material is printed and distributed according to specifications and timeline;
Reaches out to local businesses and organizations to secure sponsorships /in-kind donations and recruit participants for fundraising events;
Compiles statistics and prepares reports on donations associated with campaigns and fundraisers;
Compiles detailed documentation of all aspects of the campaigns and fundraisers and assists in post-event review to inform future fundraising planning.
Qualifications required:
Post-secondary education in Fundraising, Event Administration & Planning, Marketing, or directly related areas of study.
Combination of education and experience in fundraising and marketing is an asset.
Experience in DonorPerfect, Raisin is an asset.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Experience relating to building the following skills: teamwork, organization, attention to detail, communication, initiative, accountability, etc.
Sensitivity to the needs of the vulnerable population with disabilities, including challenges in cognition
Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Must work in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies
Compensation:
Starting at $47,000 annually; three (3) weeks' vacation per year of work (pro-rated to hours worked); 9 paid (including stat) holidays, 3 float days; health, insurance, and pension benefits when eligible.
Pay will be commensurate based on education and experience
