The Fundraising and Planned Giving Manager, under the direction of the Executive Director is responsible for expanding, planning, organizing and directing all aspects of Cosmo's fundraising including major gifts, planned giving, special events, donor stewardship and capital campaigns. This role involves developing and implementing community relations initiatives including media coordination and cultivating donor relationships to support the organization's mission. As part of the Senior Leadership Team they participate in the development and implementation of the agency's strategic plan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans to align with the organization mission, values and goals.
2. Cultivate donor relationships and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure financial resources for operational sustainability and program growth.
3. Ensure a consistent and robust pipeline of prospective donors and fundraising is maintained.
4. Coordinate communications with media.
5. Collaborate with the Senior Leadership team to establish fundraising priorities and objectives.
6. Develop and implement plans to achieve fundraising targets and objectives including budgets.
7. Lead the preparation of grant proposals, sponsorship packages and other funding requests and timely submission of all required reports.
8. Build and maintain effective and positive relationships with community members, local organizations, and key stakeholders, which may include representing Cosmo at community events and public meetings.
9. Develop effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
10. Manage outreach activities such as public speaking engagements, event planning, and partnerships with local groups.
11. Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit planned gifts.
12. Manage a portfolio of donors at various giving levels and provide stewardship for both new and major donors.
13. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
14. Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
15. Passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to achieving fundraising goals.
16. Cross-train for other duties/positions as deemed necessary.
17. Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:

Skills, Effort and Competencies:
Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.
Education
Degree or diploma in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Relations or Marketing is preferred.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) with above-average skills.
Experience
Demonstrated experience in fundraising and planned giving, with a successful track record in previous roles highlighted by a minimum of 5 years of experience in this field.
Communication Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills is essential. Strong presentation and relationship-building skills (with both internal and external stakeholders) along with qualities such as professionalism, tact, diplomacy and empathy are a must for the successful applicant.
Physical Demands
Long periods of sitting/working at a computer are required. Driving to and attending events and meetings is required, which may be outside of normal business hours.
