Fund Accountant
Industry - Investment Management
Location - Downton Toronto (Hybrid, Monday to Wednesday in office)
Compensation - Total up to CND $85k p/a (base + bonus) + 100% Group life, medical, and disability insurance plans, RRSP
Perks - Total office shutdown over Christmas and New Year / snack orderings once a week / company off-sites once a year along with smaller ad-hoc events.
Our client a leading Investment Management Firm in Canada, with almost $2 billion AUM is currently seeking a Senior Fund Accountant. This firm is one of Canada\'s biggest and most innovative investment manager in their respective field and they are committed to sustainable and high-performing alternative asset strategies. Role Overview: Reporting to the Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial deliverables of several existing funds. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Statements: Assist in the composition and review of quarterly and year-end financial statements, supporting the audit process.
Investor Reporting: Prepare investor reporting packages.
Fund Budgets: Assist in developing fund budgets and managing fund administration processes.
Investor Deliverables: Prepare account statements, capital call letters, distribution letters, and maintain investor registries.
Support Functions: Aid the Controller with investor requests, invoice coding, and preparation of quarterly bank covenant packages.
Tax Returns: Assist in the preparation of partnership tax returns.
Process Improvements: Support various process improvement activities and undertake other duties as assigned by the Controller.
Qualifications
What They\'re Looking For:
Educational Background: University degree specializing in accounting or business.
Experience: 2-4 years of experience preferably within fund accounting experience.
Skills: Excellent time management, attention to detail, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and develop effective recommendations.
Preferred: Familiarity with Yardi is an asset.
