MacEwan University invites you to join our dynamic team as a Functional Analyst in the Office of the University Registrar. We are hiring a full-time continuing position, offering a unique chance to play a key role in shaping the future of our student information systems.


As a Functional Analyst, you will report to the Assistant Registrar - Student Information Systems and support the operation and optimization of MacEwan University's student information system, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, along with other integrated systems such as MyCreds, Slate, and CourseLeaf Curriculum Inventory Management. Using your analytical expertise and problem-solving skills, you will ensure these systems operate efficiently and effectively, aligning with institutional priorities.


In this role, you will:

Enhance systems and processes:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain system configurations that meet the evolving needs of our students and staff.

Analyze and solve problems:

Tackle system defects and data inconsistencies with a solution-oriented mindset, ensuring smooth operations and seamless user experiences.

Support data integrity:

Use advanced reporting tools to ensure accurate and reliable information is available across systems.

Drive innovation:

Identify opportunities for process improvements, leveraging your expertise to propose and implement impactful technology solutions.

Collaborate with stakeholders:

Partner with various departments to document business requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement quality assurance procedures that ensure system reliability and performance.

To thrive in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and collaborative skills. We are looking for candidates who have:

Technical Expertise



Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions configuration and query writing. Proficiency with tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and other software applications essential for data management and reporting. The ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex systems, making sound decisions to resolve issues efficiently.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills



Strong research and critical thinking abilities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data using quantitative and qualitative methods. The ability to evaluate processes and recommend innovative improvements to enhance system functionality.

Communication and Collaboration



Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences. A collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across academic and administrative departments. Experience leading meetings and workshops to share knowledge and foster a culture of learning.

Organizational and Professional Skills



Strong time management and organizational abilities to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines. A detail-oriented and proactive approach to maintaining accuracy and thoroughness in your work. QUALIFICATIONS



A minimum a bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Software, or another ERP solution, combined with directly relevant on-the-job experience. A background of working in a large post-secondary institution with a demonstrated knowledge of industry norms, student life cycle, and correlating records policies and business processes. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
