This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

Enrolment Systems and Service Innovation, within the Office of the Provost, prioritizes collaboration and creating an environment where our teams, our partners, and students are safe to share thoughts and challenges in an effort to develop innovative solutions that support the operational and strategic priorities of the University. Position




The Functional Analyst is a key member of the Enrolment Systems & Service Innovation team. The Functional Analyst supports enrolment focused portfolios by blending their knowledge of enrolment and student service operations with expertise of enrolment management systems utilized by the University's campus community. Through effective system configuration, the Functional Analyst ensures the University's enrolment related processes run efficiently, accurately, and on time. They also collaborate with team members and subject matter experts from across the University to improve processes and fully utilize available systems. Leveraging this unique expertise, the Functional Analyst is pivotal in the supporting the entirety of the student journey and improving the student experience at the University of Alberta.

Duties



Provides expertise and knowledge regarding the University's enrolment systems; advises business users on system capabilities and makes recommendations regarding system solutions or changes. Participates in system/process improvement initiatives and supports change management strategies to ensure successful implementation of new systems, functionality, and features. Configures enrolment systems and provides operational production support for a variety of enrolment and student service related functions (e.g., student recruitment, admissions, class timetabling, registration, tuition/fees, the student record, student financial support, student conduct, convocation, continuing education, etc.). Support the development of operational reports/queries and informs data requests related to enrolment systems.

Minimum Qualifications



Related post-secondary degree or diploma. Minimum of two years of related experience working with student administration systems in a post-secondary environment (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions experience is ideal). Demonstrated competence and aptitude for working with technology. A thorough knowledge of University regulations, especially in the areas of registration and enrolment functions. A logical and analytical mind with: + an aptitude for problem-solving.
+ an ability to differentiate between solving a symptom vs. identifying the root issue.
+ an ability to address current problems, while projecting and preventing potential future issues.
Strong organizational and time management skills; an ability to complete tasks and deliver expected outcomes under tight deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with business users/stakeholders, and work harmoniously with others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Agile and adaptable; capable of shifting focus as priorities change. Self-motivated; takes the initiative and is resourceful.

Preferred Qualifications



Knowledge and expertise in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Slate, MyCreds, Ad Astra, Blackbaud Award Management, Symplicity Advocate/Accommodate, and/or Modern Campus products is highly valued. Knowledge of PSQuery, PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQR, XML, SQL, HTML/Javascript and Adobe products are assets. Business analysis certificate and experience in business process mapping using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, etc. is valuable. Experience with project management methodologies is an asset.
