The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for a

Full-Time (1.00 f.t.e.) Temporary Humanities Teacher

at Peace River High School

. This position will commence on January 5, 2026 and will continue until June 26, 2026. The successful candidate will be teaching English 10-2, 20-2 and Social Studies 10-1 as well as Foods.

This position will remain open until suitable candidate is secured.

Peace River High School, located in the Town of Peace River, serves approximately 250 students in grades 9-12. Peace River High's Regular Instructional Program includes a full range of academic core, non-academic and options/complementary courses in single grade classrooms to meet the education to meet the diverse needs of students. Peace River is a town in northwest Alberta, Canada. It is along the banks of the Peace River at its confluence with the Smoky River, the Heart River and Pat's Creek. Qualifications:

Experience and/or training in teaching junior and senior level grades. Excellent communications skills with students, staff and parents. Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and educational assistants to ensure student success. Proven ability to differentiate lessons to support students' achievement. Strong classroom management skills. A keen understanding of assessment practices. The ability to use technology to support learning in the classroom .

Requirements:

Must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate. Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check, dated within six (6) months of your application.

Annual Salary Range:

$ 62, 702 to $ 105, 996 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers' Association and the Peace River School Division).
