Hopital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) is a patient-centred primary care hospital that has been established in Alexandria, Ontario for 60 years. HGMH provides acute care, 24-hour emergency services, outpatient services and rehabilitation to over 41,000 residents every year. Position Purpose




Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions while collaborating with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families. Responsible to monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' condition and in turn, administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.


The Team Lead on the Medicine Unit plays a vital role in coordinating patient care, supporting clinical staff, and ensuring high standards of practice are upheld every shift. With a strong clinical foundation and leadership presence, they help foster a collaborative and compassionate care environment for patients and families.

Requirements




Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario 3-5 years' experience in an acute medicine setting required. Must be willing to take any other course relevant to the area of practice. Leadership experience an asset. Excellent attendance record. Bilingualism preferred - English (spoken and written)/French (spoken) - to be tested. Proof of double COVID vaccination required prior to interview.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT




The Tuition Support Program for Nurses is part of the government's commitment to provide more families with access to primary health care, and to support the recruitment and retention of nurses to rural and remote areas across the province.


This program offers tuition reimbursement to recent nursing graduates from rural and remote communities who are new College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) registrants and who choose to do a return-of-service (ROS) in an eligible community. The program is open to nurse practitioner, registered nurse and registered practical nurse graduates who apply within one year of having graduated from a Canadian university or College.
