Northern Gateway Public Schools invites applications for a full-time Probationary Junior High Physical Education Teaching Position (1.0 FTE) at Hillside Jr/Sr High School, Valleyview, Alberta.

ol is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Junior High Physical Education and Options teacher to join our team.

We are looking for a student-centered educator who is passionate about promoting active living and well-being through engaging and inclusive physical education programming. The successful candidate will also demonstrate creativity and flexibility in delivering a variety of junior high option courses that inspire student interest and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

As Physical Education Teacher:

Deliver engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate physical education programming aligned with Alberta curriculum outcomes. Promote physical literacy, health, wellness, and lifelong activity. Foster a safe, respectful, and student-centered learning environment that encourages active participation and personal growth. Use responsive instructional strategies to engage students and support meaningful teacher-student relationships. Apply assessment for and of learning practices to guide instruction and monitor student progress. Collaborate effectively with colleagues to provide academic and behavioral support and intervention. Integrate First Nations, Metis, and Inuit foundational knowledge to support inclusive and culturally responsive teaching. Communicate and build positive relationships with parents to support student success. Demonstrate strong organizational and classroom management skills. Align teaching practices with the Northern Gateway Public Schools (NGPS) Quality Learning Environment (QLE) framework.

Have school practice that is focused on:working with school administration to support the School Action Plan a commitment to student achievement and success through the Collaborative Team Meeting (CTM) process working with school administration to enhance staff wellness and school culture outstanding communication and interpersonal skills have a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Start Date:

Duties will commence August 26, 2025.
