is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of all recreational gymnastics programming. This includes supervising and mentoring recreational coaches, ensuring high-quality, safe instruction aligned with CanGym and NCCP standards, and promoting a positive club culture for gymnasts and families.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the recreational program for all age groups, including:
preschool, youth, and teen classes
Birthday parties
School programs
Adapted program
Private lessons
Develop and implement lesson plans and seasonal programming aligned with CanGym, CanJump, Parkour, Acro, and Circus activities.
Mentor and support a team of recreational coaches, providing ongoing training, feedback, identifying professional development opportunities, planning and running staff meetings, and evaluations.
Ensure a fun, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all participants.
Manage class scheduling, athlete groupings, and coach assignments in collaboration with administrative staff.
Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding athlete progress and club updates.
Assist with the planning and execution of club events (e.g., Fun Meets, assessments, holiday camps, etc).
Ensure compliance with Alberta Gymnastics Federation and GymCan policies and safety standards.
Maintain up-to-date certifications and support coaches in doing the same.
Assist with equipment maintenance and purchasing.
Research, develop, and implement new programs for the club.
Assist with registrations.
Supervise and lead volunteers.
Qualifications
Minimum NCCP Gymnastics Foundations - Trampoline and Artistic Certified
(or in progress).
Respect in Sport
,
Making Ethical Decisions
, and
CPR/First Aid Certification
required.
Experience coaching recreational gymnastics across multiple age groups.
Experience working with MS Office suite, particularly strong Excel skills
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Passion for gymnastics, child development, and community sport.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by the schedule.
