Job Description

Our team of nearly 60 teachers needs a full-time pop voice and Intro Private piano teacher (who will also teach 3 small group classes). Voice teachers, while fun and relatable, need also be properly educated and have a strong grasp of music theory. Please note our 2 shift minimum. Intro Piano teachers should have approximately RCM Grade 4 level or equivalent and experience with young children.

EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Voice / Intro Piano teachers should possess a minimum of:

University degree in music (or other professional training)

2 years of prior experience working at a reputable music school in Canada is a major asset

Voice teachers should be stylistically versatile, be able to improvise, compose, read tab, AND traditional sheet music.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Warm and caring

Encouraging and gentle

Experience working with younger children

Infectious outgoing personality

Strong English verbal and written communication skills

Additional experience working with children (camps, coaching etc) is an asset

AVAILABILITY

Full-time applicants must have availability on at least FIVE of the following days: Mondays to Fridays (afternoon and evening), Saturdays (morning and afternoon only). If you wish to apply part-time only you MUST indicate this in a cover letter.

BONUS

Preference will be given to applicants who include a cover letter expressing their love for teaching music to young children and indicating their current availability

Exact pay is dependent on applicant's experience and education. Approx $5,000 per month. We welcome current university students at a lesser pay rate.
