Children's Centre Thunder Bay works together with families, caregivers and a community of partners to make a real difference in the quality of life of children and youth. We are an accredited, not-for-profit organization providing treatment and support services for children and youth, from birth to 18 years, who are experiencing behavioural, emotional, developmental or social difficulties. The Centre is currently seeking to fill the following positions:





Two Full-Time Child and Youth Worker



Union Position - 35 Hours Weekly




Shift Work - Including Overnights




Benefits, Hospital of Ontario Pension Plan & Vacation



And



Two Part-Time Child and Youth Workers




Union Position




Hourly - $26.86 - $32.68




% In Lieu of Benefits




Must have Monday - Friday day availability

Responsibilities:

The Child & Youth Worker is responsible for providing assessment of the strengths and needs of youth, as well as evaluating the response to intervention and treatment. The Child and Youth Worker will provide interventions for children and families in accordance with their scope of practice and in collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. CYWs may be assigned to Live-ln-Treatment, Day Treatment, Intensive Child and Family Intervention or specialized services for complex/special needs children, CYWs are required to work flexible hours including evenings, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

:


The Child and Youth Worker (CYW) position requires: A CYW degree/diploma from a recognized and accredited university or college, consideration will also be given to graduates in other related fields. Experience in children's mental health or related field of practice which may include live-in, school-based and/or home-based work Knowledge of the range of theories and practices applicable to the children's mental health field Knowledge and experience in working with families and children who require mental health assessment and treatment A valid Ontario G Driver's Licence and current First Aid Certification
